Charitable Donations Mean Everything to NU Students

Even small personal emergencies can disrupt an adult student’s ability to stay in school. An unexpected medical bill, or temporary housing insecurity, can suddenly force an NU student to choose between basic needs and graduating. Generous donors can be their lifeline! Heartfelt gifts of every size make a difference to each student faced with giving up or forging through their adversity. In addition to funding Emergency Student Needs, NU donors provide scholarships for students who were previously unable to afford a college education and help provide new programs and innovative technologies that further NU’s whole human education.

Since 1971, we’ve supported adult learners balancing busy lives. NU delivers a holistic approach to student well-being through a supportive ecosystem that measures success financially, academically, socially and emotionally, as well as through family life and career. Our unique four-week class format has helped over 200,000 students graduate. Today, we open up possibilities for an extremely diverse population of learners determined to overcome barriers to success, seize opportunities, and make a difference.

Working adults can be overwhelmed by the investment it takes to go back to school to earn a degree. The cultural myth of self-reliance doesn’t work in education because the playing field isn’t even. Charitable donations are vital to our students’ success and positively affect their lives as well as the lives of their families for generations to come, leading to a much-improved society as a whole.
